This year will be the first time we experience a full virtual WWDC event. Word on the street that Apple AirPods Studio may have already entered mass production, well ahead of the WWDC event. Expected to be announced at this WWDC 2020 this month, the US$349 (~AUD$515) over-ear headphones will compete with the likes of the Bose 700, the upcoming Sony WH-1000XM4 and the Surface Headphones 2.

Quoted by MacRumors, DigiTimes stated the following:

As Apple is likely to accelerate dropping its wired earphones, the vendor will resume normal shipments for AirPods 2 in the second half of the year and its new over-ear headphones, dubbed ‌AirPods Studio‌, has also kicked off production, all securing growth momentum for rigid-flex boards suppliers for the devices, including Unitech Printed Circuit Board and Compeq Manufacturing

According to information published by Mark Gurman (from Bloomberg News) and Jon Prosser (from Front Page Tech), the AirPods Studio will feature several advanced detection features and active noise cancellation. We’re expecting Siri and HomeKit integration to be included in this too. Scheduled to launch later this year for US$349, Apple is said to have also included a magnetic headband and earcups.
