Apple today introduced the newest version of macOS, the operating system that runs on the Mac. macOS 11.0 Big Sur is now available in beta for registered developers who want to test out the new features and ensure their software is compatible.
This signals the end of macOS X (formally Mac OS X), or macOS 10.0 which originally released March 24, 2001.

macOS Big Sur introduces the largest redesign it’s had in years. Safari introduces some new features, including a customisable start page, improved tabs, simplified translations, and a new Privacy Report to let you know exactly what data a website is collecting about you.
The updated Messages app lets Mac users send and receive more personal and expressive messages, and easily keep track of and interact within group messages.
Maps also offer an all-new experience with immersive features for exploring and navigating the world. Which hints towards similar world exploring features like Google Maps.
